so took i few videos accelerating and decelerating in first/second gear. had the window rolled down a bit. its so loud people in my car are like 'wtf was that?'. Also has the same noise in D and flooring it and lettin go of the gas but its not as long as the RPMs drop much quicker in D. only 2330 miles...noticed the noise first a few weeks ago while on the highway at around 65-80mph while accelerating.

Take it in...
Then tell us what they tell you. I have a feeling they will be taking some things apart to figure it out.

Trading the Kiz in is not easy. I had a lot of sleepless nights. But I did. Mainley due to the lack of dealer networks in SE Florida and the CVT. I tried looking into a Sport mondel with manual but no dealers on the entire west coast of Florida did not even contact me when I went out for quotes on the internet. Corporate Suzuki sent me an email asking if anyone had contacted me and if I wanted to be contacted to which I said yes. Probley scared the dealers off when I mentioned my trade was a 2010 SLS with low mileage and in perfect shape (except I did not mention the CVT issues). With a Lancer your dealing with the same potential isuues as the Kiz in reference to limited dealer network and low vehicle sales. I was able to get $17,500 for the Kiz on a trade in for a VW Jetta GLI with manual and believe me that took a lot of lying about waht other dealers were offering. Got the VW for cost plus hold back. If my Kiz was a manual would have never traded it in period. CVT which was only available on the SLS is not the best choice for the car. I like the Jetta but loved the uniqueness of the Kiz. Hope they get their shit together in the future ie mo pwr options and more sales. I would consider getting another. Euro cars are very closed to the Kiz in handling and feel.

could it possibly be something besides the cvt? alternator? timing chain?.....
note that it only makes these sound after car has been warmed up 20 minutes

I don't think it is the alternator or timing chain. I know what those sound like when they are having trouble and that wasn't it.
