Anyone come across pedal covers for the kizzy? I've heard the ones offered for the sx4 fit. Any info would be great.

Hi,

I have the first UK kizashi, and imported an auto grand vitara pedal set from Bob Wade Autoworld in the USA. This kit can be made to fit with a little work.

First the gas pedal from the Vitara is slightly different in shape, having the top right corner cut off at an angle, not a problem to adjust the shape on the Kizashi as its made from a type of plastic which can be trimmed down. However the curve on the (new) pedal is to shallow and requires careful bending. Also the original gas pedal has moulding on the back it can be tricky to fit the nuts and bolts.

If you Kizashi is the CVT type the brake pedal with fit over the old one, just remove the original rubber. Drilling the three bolt holes requires a short drill and bit to achieve the correct angle under the dashboard.

The dead pedal will fit but the original is always going to be bigger than any replacement (see photo) There is no way you can use the nuts on the dead pedal as on the UK cars you cannot remove the carpet! To get round this I used the new dead pedal as a template, placing the right hand edge against the original edge but overlapping the bottom edge. I then drilled three 2mm holes and inserted three small nylon wallplugs. (These need a lip on the top edge to stop them pushing through the carpet) I then screwed down the pedal with the bolts, The bolts self tapping into the nylon wallplugs. As extra security I also glued on the new rubber section of the pedal.

You shold note that a sticky template is included in the kit which has both the SX4 and Vitara gas pedal/dead pedal shape and the manual and auto brake pedal shape (The clutch pedal being the same shape as the manual brake)

Hope this of some help.
