Hi,

so yesterday while getting into a parking spot I noticed a nasty sound from the back of my car, drived a bit around to investigate, and it was happening when doing a full stop. In the morning I stopped at the suzuki service center and when we had a look by the daylight, we saw that the left rear brake pad is completely worn out. It seems the right one is still pretty thick (cannot distinguish from new by sight). The disc looks fine.

The service was done 3 weeks ago and they tell me they didn't notice anything strange. They ordered the complete set for rear breaks. The car has 30000km/18600mile.

Did anyone else encountered an issue like this?

Not on the Kiz, but a couple years ago the GM dealer put a set of front pads on the daughter's Alero for inspection and the next year at inspection time, one pad was worn out completely. The other 3 were still brand new. Mr. Goodwrench took care of the bill on the the replacement. Crappy QC on parts these days no matter where they originate from. It happens.

I currently have 56,872 miles on my '11 S AWD brakes without any issues or service.

The car was repaired today.

The explanation from dealer was that the break pad was stuck and wasn't moving correctly in the check rail.

They said that it could have been caused by me not using the brakes enough. I do prefer to drive in a way that I don't accelerate and decelerate abruptly, but I don't think I don't use the brakes significantly less than the others.

I don't use the brakes hardly at all w/ the paddle shifters. I was going to mention the stuck pad, but on cars as new as ours are yet... seems kind of odd. Anti-sieze is your friend. Any time I do the brakes, I clean off all the crud and apply a very conservative film of the stuff on the metal-metal contact areas.
