Kizashi Club

Hi all,

I’m thinking of lowering my Kizashi, but I’m spoilt with choice on which brand of springs to use. It would be a great if you post pictures and comments of your lowered Kizashis to help me decide. Some brands I’ve been contemplating are Eibach, KW, H&R, and Pedders.

Can I suggest the following format for your posts:

1) Picture of Kizashi (before and after pictures would be great, so I can see the difference from stock).
2) Brand and cost of springs, and where it was ordered from.
3) General comments on changes in ride quality and handling from stock.
4) Recommended: Yes/No

I hit the bottom of my S AWD so hard it cost 5 grand to fix.

I would prefer about 10--20mm more clearance.

What were you using for springs? Do you have pics?

How can you bottom out on a kizashi!?
Did you go flying off a curb or something?? lol

I was gently cruising home from work on a dark rural paved road. Apparently the town road crew had cut out a 15--18ft section of pavement (RIGHT at the top of a rise) about 4--5" down, intending to pave it the next morning.
I hit the drop-off leading edge and realized I was still going too fast (approach speed under 30MPH), slammed on the brakes as I ABSd my way across the dirt section, then SLAMMED the front radiator support and engine cradle into the trailing edge that stood abot 5" about the dirt.
Tore off every piece of plastic undercladding, too.

I was already aware the S AWD had insufficient ground clearance for our poor roads, but this was a fender-buckling mistake.
I can only image the damage had I been following my normal routine of traveling near light speed......


Took the car out of service for 34 days.
Got fixed perfectly. (did NOT cause any actual damage to the engine cradle, just a scrape, but since we were already in that far my guy said what the heck)

Car is stock.

It probably would have been better not to brake and hope for the best. (As soon as you brake the front suspension compresses because of the vehicle's weight transferring.)

Cost me about $550 between repair deductible and rental deductible. Still makes me laugh.....

I would have sent a bill to the roads dept.

Exactly, if it was not marked clearly as being under (re)construction, they should pay for the damages
