They look cool, you know with the Evo look, but it's going to block one of the fog lights. I read about that somewhere. That was a deal breaker for me.

That's a choice you're going to have to make unless you are ok with fog light blockage. The idea behind the offset tag holder was so that it did not block airflow to the massive intercooler of a Mitsu LanEvo. Evos have intercoolers behind the lower grill unlike Subarus which had them under the hood (therefore the hood scoop). Given that the Kizashi is not turbo, therefore no intercooler, there is no need to offset the license plate other than for looks. I personally deemed it not worth it given I have yellow HID fog lights.
Some people are lucky to live in states that don't even require front tags.

I lived in California for several years, they require a front plate, I live in Arizona now and they don't, Arizona's laws are much friendlier towards privacy tint also.
Not to get political, but a state that prides itself on it's "progressive" attitude, can gett pretty nannyish.

I hate the front plate on the front of a car...the European thin and wider ones to tend to blend better with the car lines.

We require front plates in Australia - below is mine fitted with a standard sized front plate.

We have the option of a number of different sized/ style plates (for a price....) including slimline front plates that are lower in height. When I'm feeling rich I'll be updating mine to something better suited. http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/ezyplate ... ebContent/

(I'd rather a slimmer plate than that side mount kit.)

Trailboss, I used to live in California too. I would say they have some of the strictest laws regarding cars. Other than requiring front plates, they are strict on noise pollution (tickets for using the horn excessively), SMOG checks, and engine specifications. That's why you see some California-spec cars that have more restrictive emissions set-ups. People complain that these cars have a few HP less than non-Cal spec models. California also restricted diesel passenger cars like the VW TDIs until recently when they achieved 50 state emissions standards. I heard that California has the strictest emissions laws in the world. A report also came out a few days ago saying that the Toyota Prius was the #1 selling car in California. Go figure.
