buying kizashi post-bankruptcy announcement

Hello, I am considering buying a Kizashi but was wondering if anyone has bought one since the announcement. What kind of deals or discounts did you negotiate? Or, on the flipside, if you were considering buying before but have since decided not to, what was the reason for not? Lower resale value? Lack of service/parts?
I live in the NW, and there seem to be a surprisingly large number of Suzuki dealers in the Washington/Oregon area. And I was online chatting with a dealership who pointed me to this KBB article:

Just wanted to get others' thoughts who were considering purchasing one as well. It's a shame about the company's US departure, especially considering the quality and looks of the car. Why couldn't Mitsubishi have left instead?
Thanks for any responses.

Thought I would jump in and offer a prespective from upstate NY- may be entirely different where you are but here is what I have seen. Some dealers are offering deep discounts on inventory on their lots- last I checked one dealer was offering $6,500 off and got their inventory sold, another was @ $5,000 off MSRP before dickering and units were sitting on their lot. From my personal experience I would take the KBB article with a grain of salt- maybe it will come back up to that low a discount but we tested the market with our 2010 SLS two weeks ago- some dealers didn't want to touch our Suzuki as a trade and were offering 30% off KBB trade in value. Best offer was 11% off from KBB. SOunds like dealer network si stronger out there- we found around here some parts weren't available aftermarket and not stocked by the dealer we checked with (rear brake rotors)- figure parts might get tougher going down the road. Don't get me wrong, great car and that has been absolutely trouble free for 45,000 miles- just a shame what Suzuki did to us.

Just thought I'd give you my opinion and reasons... this may not pertain to you and your area though because I'm in NC.
I did own a Kizashi (it was totaled last month) and will be buying another one (2013 Kizashi) this Saturday. That isn't the first time I've read or seen the KBB article but after weeks of calling dealerships all over the US, I can say that the Kizashi's are selling rapidly (at least with my experience). I lost out on 4 different ones in a day by calling the dealership(s) just a little too late. One in Florida, two in Pennsylvania and one in Georgia. There are also a lot of dealerships selling their cars to other dealerships... some Kizzy's in SC are now in Alabama and according to a dealership in PA, they have bought truck loads from across the country. With all of this going on I kind of felt that it was "now or never".
It was a tough decision to make when I heard of the bankruptcy news and I knew I had to be all in and ready to buy the car knowing the future possibilities or pass the car up all together and find something else... which broke my heart because I loved my Kizashi. There's nothing else out on the market that I am (personally) interested in and remembering how it protected us in the wreck, I've decided that I will be buying another one.
There are some dealerships giving some great discounts on the cars but with my experience the 2012 models have been harder to negotiate than the 2013 models. I'm only interested in buying another SLS so that may be part of the issue, I haven't really tried pricing anything else. Read my post about GTS/SLS pricing on the forum
http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... =13&t=1978 Like I said, I am buying on Saturday and there may be some greater deals coming from dealerships and/or Suzuki soon, not to mention the end of the year sales... however, the choices might be even more slim than now. Tough decision I know but wish you the best!
Hopefully this helps you some and helps with making your decision easier.
