My fuel economy - fuel comparisons

Alright so over the past few months I've been taking note of my fuel economy of ONLY my drive to work. While I was doing the tests for each tank I didn't travel anywhere except for from work to home and visa versa. This traffic would probably be considered mild city peak hour. All fuel was purchased at the exact same servo. Results are as follows (metric):
Tank 1 = E10
$1.47 per litre
479.9km to 58.47 litres
Avg speed 35km/h
Avg Consumption - Car readout = 11.1l/100k
Avg Consumption - Actual =12.18l/100km
8.2km/litre
0.17c per km
Tank 2 = 95 premium
$1.58 per litre
479.2km to 57.38 litres
Avg speed 40km/h
Avg Consumption - Car readout = 10.0l/100k
Avg Consumption - Actual =11.97l/100km
8.35km/litre
0.19c per km
Tank 3 = 98 V-Power
1.70 per litre
760.1km to 57 litres
Avg speed 40km/h
Avg Consumption - Car readout = 7.9/100k
Avg Consumption - Actual =7.49l/100km
13.5km/litre
0.13c per km
Personally, I was surprised.

Wow, V-Power made a huge difference. You're pretty much within manufacturer's claimed economy (with premium fuel of course).
Lately I was using Caltex 98 Octane and BP's 98, but I haven't noticed any difference on the on-board computer...still showing 8.6L/100km. I might re-set it tonight when I refuel.
Thanks for the info & comparison

You need to average multiple tanks. There are too many variables that could easily explain the differences you see in one tank

Im recording more as I go but it took me quiet a while to get those 3 tanks without going anywhere else. Needed the girlfriends car a lot. This run the car isnt available to me so ill be having more mixed conditions

The accuracy of the trip computer with the different fuels is also interesting. I dipped into the 9.0l/100km today- after getting caught for over 1/2 hr in Adelaide's grid lock in the city centre (thanks to the Clipsal 500 and Fringe Festival shutting down the eastern end of the city with complete road closures!)
(That's 9.0l/100km off the trip computer using BP Ultimate98.)

It might help to check my post from early January. I gave a bunch of stats related to mileage. I do think the EPA MPG estimates are accurate for this car. After engine break-in, I think it is reasonable to ave 25 mpg in mixed driving for an AWD SLS.

Yeah I think Suzuki's claims for the fuel consumption for the Kizashi are accurate. Just this morning I managed to get 7.0L/100km (on the on-board computer); I'm running on 98 Octane, 60-40 HYW-City with conservative driving.

Yea I found the inaccuracy interesting aswell, I had suspected it was a bit off but I assumed it would have been reading lower not higher. My dealer strongly reccomended I use 98 but I was earning a lot less when I bought the car and couldnt really afford it other than when fuel was cheap but it seems it would have actually been cheaper in the long run.
I think 7.5 is fantastic for city driving in a 2.4 litre petrol car. My boss has a 2.0 turbo diesel cruze and he gets 8.1 for virtually the same drive. I dont drive conservatively at all really where as he always does. My last car got 15.4:p
I found out today im most likely getting a promotion ive been gunning for for a while:D this means my drive to work will be half an hour on the freeway in light traffic so my future post will most likely be highway info fingers crossed.

I drove exactly 176 miles on 5.263 gallons of Mobil premium (tank before that: 355.6 miles, 12.62 gallons).

My last tank was about 65% highway and 35% city and came out to be about 26.25 mpg. Just over 1000 miles on my 2013 w/CVT. The hwy miles were with 2wd locked on and most of the city miles were AWD due to a nice snow storm we got last week.
