Is the stock sound system good?
Is the stock sound system in the SE decent? While it would be nice to blow the doors off with the R/F, I don't have to have it if the stock system's OK. Also, I've seen it listed as 7 speakers. What are the 7? I imagine front doors, front tweeters and read deck. What's the 7th? In the R/F it would be the sub-woofer but does the stock system have a sub-woofer?

RF is a 10 speaker, 425 watt system.
1 front dash speaker
2 front door speakers
2 front door tweeters
2 rear door speakers
2 rear door tweeters mounted inside the rear speakers via bridge
1 rear deck subwoofer.
I don't know for certain for the standard system, but my guess is:
1 front dash speaker
2 front door speakers
2 front door tweeters
2 rear door speakers
I believe the non-RF system has nothing on rear deck.
I am pretty sure the non-RF does not have a dedicated subwoofer like the RF nor an amplifier (mounted in trunk area).
The RF system was one of the main reasons I got a GTS and it was well worth it. If you like music, then it's definitely going to enhance the Kizashi experience.

I assume we're talking the older stock system- with the head unit that physically looks very similar to the RF? I think Kuro has the 7 speakers listed correctly- the seventh is a centre dash speaker (no subwoofer.)
To be honest I'd class it as "below average" for a modern factory head unit. There's no bluetooth and it lacks power compared to other manufacturer's head units. There's certainly no way you could compare it to the Rockford Fosgate system....
For decent sound you'd need to swap head units (or add an amplifier) and upgrade the speakers.

I tried that on my 2011 non RF and found the sound quality increase was barely there, but not anything like the improvement I had using the same speakers in a previous vehicle. I then swapped head units and the difference was amazing. There was a huge increase in bass from the front door speakers and in sound quality at anything above low volume levels. I put that down to the stock head unit not having enough power to drive even the most sensitive speakers.krellmk wrote:Would better speakers help in the non RF system just can't take the sound in my 2013 anymore don't wanna go down the amp and sub-woofer trail if i can change the stock speakers to better quality i might be ok
