Hi all, I bought my Zuke in Jan 2013. It is a 2013 SLS. Currently I have about 16.5k miles on it and my tires are all but shot. I don't drive the car particularly hard...so, I am not sure why they are in such bad shape. Does anyone know if there is a warranty on the OEM Tires? I am sure if there is, it is pro-rated...but something back would be nice.

I know some have been replaced under warranty, but neither of our 2 sets were.

First thing Suzuki is going to say is "did you rotate them every 5,000 miles?"

They're miserable tires anyway, get some good ones and consider it an upgrade.

You may want to have your alignment checked. Excessive tire wear seems to be common, and it's usually due to the factory alignment.

As for warranty, I doubt it but it's worth a shot. 16.5k miles is really early

Agreed. I'm just riding mine out for a bit more, but I am rather eager to get new tires of a different brand.
These Dunlops wear horribly and the ride quality tanked with it.

Just buy new ones, and think of them as 'consumables'.....

They are consumables...but less than 20k miles is unacceptable to me. I only drive about 10k miles a year so, good tires will last me a while. The tires are rotated with every oil change. I was just curious, because I have seen some of these cars come with a factory warranty on the tires.

I only got 20K miles out my OE tires on my highlander. I think Suzuki asked too much of the Dunlop engineers so they came up something that met Suzuki's low rolling resistance specs at the sacrifice of tread wear while not exceeding a set cost. A common practice of auto manufacturers who want to bump up their mpg ratings and keep costs down but maybe Suzuki asked too much of Dunlop?

If the tires are shot at 16k, it's got to be one of two things. Hard driving or alignment. fjroman2 has already stated that he doesn't drive it hard so that leaves alignment. We know that there were issues with the alignments with new cars. You should be able to tell from the wear if it's an alignment issue. If you you're not sure, any tire shop will be able to tell. Most shops will also check the alignment for free when you're having some other service performed. With all that said, and we've all been over this before, I'm not sure why most are so down on the Dunlop Sport 7000 A/S. I'm assuming that's what everyone gets, at least in N. America? I put 45k on mine before replacing. There was actually plenty of tread left except on the inside edges because (I'm assuming) the original owner didn't have it aligned correctly. I had it aligned soon after I purchased it (after reading the threads here about it) Had it been aligned correctly from the beginning, I'd probably still be on the original tires. My new tires, Continental PureContacts, are quieter and the ride is a little smoother, but the car does not stick like it used to or respond as quick as it did with the Dunlops. Quite a bit more confidence in the rain though. I guess that's a bonus. Also, the Continentals also have the cool D W S on them so you know when it's time to replace based on your driving conditions.

I am not saying the tires are shot, but they look as though they will be by 20k for sure. I have 0 confidence in the rain at this point. Anyway...I had asked to have the alignment checked at my dealer when I was there for a service, they wanted like $120 to do it...so I scrapped it. Maybe I'll take it to my normal tire shop and see what they think. How do you all feel about Cooper? I have put CS4s on 2 different vehicles (a VW Passat and our Forrester)...they seem to be nice all season tires.
