Kizashi Club

I am aware of a few people moaning about the paintwork, so I wondered if anyone had tried this Chipex

I wouldn't call factory defects moaning. It's a very substandard paint process that our cars went through.

I have done a little research, and apparently white has the least problems, and black the most.

Black is definitely up there, but I think Red was the thinnest. Too bad too as it's one of the sharpest colors imo.

I really don't think color has anything to do with the quality or thickness. I believe it's all about the contrast to the primer/body versus the paint. Black cars appear to be the worst because you can simply see chips the best as the primer/body is a light whitish color under the paint. On the contrary, silver and white cars would camouflage this. Red, dark blue, and black will have a very hard time hiding the light-colored chips therefore would appear to have the worst of the chipping issue.
That's what I think.

You should come by and look at my car with this theory in mind. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I don't think I have any of this chipping. Just washed the car by hand on Sunday, and thought at the time "where is all the chipping everyone is griping about?"

You're pretty lucky given you have a MY 2010 which are said to be the worst. Perhaps the color does matter. My black 2011 is actually not that bad with the chipping but I can tell the paint quality is much worse than the other cars I've owned. With only 26,000 miles, it's got a comparable number of chips to my former Mazda (@100,000 miles) and Subaru (@150,000 miles) both of which had many more miles to accrue the chips. However, it's not like my Kizashi is covered in chips.

That being said, even a door ding took the paint off my car. I've never seen paint chips as a result of a parking lot door ding. Maybe the person hit my door hard, but I still think it's a part of the overall poor paint quality of dark colored Kizashis. The odd thing is that Suzuki used to have great paint quality. My metallic red 1998 Sidekick had an excellent finish despite the offroading and neglect.

That's what I think.

I got the red being the thinnest from a thread where a tech that had Suzuki info posted it.

I wouldn't have thought it either and agree that the primer standing out is what really calls your attention to them.
