Kizashi Club

I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with this? My blower motor fan resistor stopped working I had it diagnosed today. Was wondering where you could find a used one at because I have looked everywhere!! It says Mitsubishi on the part and I have looked online every kind of way still couldn't find it!!

It's probably relatively easy to access the part from under the dash.

Blimey Gov, how can a resistor cost so much, when it probably cost about a $1 to produce ?

Although it's called a "resistor" it will actually be some sort of semiconductor device like a MOSFET (a fancy transistor.) The older style resistor speed controllers aren't used with modern climate control systems. Regardless, it's still over priced. I know with some other car brands people have pulled the module apart and replaced the MOSFET only- for a substantially reduced cost. That may, or may not, not be possible with the Kizashi?

PS: I know the current shape Grand Vitara's blow them all the time, so I hope it's not going to be a common Kizashi problem too.

Better to take two weeks off and do it yourself. Take frequent breaks! You're not on the clock!

My blower motor and resistor went in February and it is only now being fixed today. I went the tail end of the NJ winter with no heat and all summer with no AC because my car had over 35,000 miles and was past the bumper to bumper warranty. I found a used blower motor from LKQ Online which was supposed to include the resistor and it came without one. So I have a third party shop installing the blower motor and now I have to find a resistor somewhere.

Talk about a pain in the...

Thanks I'll give it a shot. My order form from LKQ clearly states that the resistor must be included so I'm dealing with their non-existent customer service right now. Before I buy another one I'd like to get the one I already paid for.
