Price of Kizashi's going up?

I was in to my local Suzuki dealer last week for an oil change and I spoke to one of the employees there. He mentioned to me how he admired the Kizashi. This site now sells Mitsubishi, VW and a variety of used cars but the dealer sells probably 15 other brands at several other locations (from Subaru to Buick to Ford to Kia...etc). Anyway, he was the purchasing agent for the used portion of the dealership and he said he has been buying up Kizashi's at the auctions because people want them. He said he has seen the price increase about $2k over the last few months.

Just thought you all might find this interesting.

That's bad news for me. I'm trying to save up money to get another one right now.

But that's a good thing for whoever wants to sell one!

I'm sure it has to do with geographic location.

Could be...I know they hit all the big auctions in the Northeast...I just thought it was interesting to see there was still a pretty good demand for the ones that are out there.

Does anyone have any idea how come there are so many more Kizashi's for sale on the east coast than anywhere else in the US?

probably because there were a lot more Suzuki dealers there originally...There was a huge dealer in Albany NY...and I know of several in PA as well...

I've been trying to keep tabs on all the 6MT/possibly 6MT + GTS/SLS model Kizashies that are for sale in the US. There seems to be two for sale in the Mid-West both in Texas, which is by no means close to Kansas. One for sale in NV. Most the rest of them are for sale east of the Mississippi, with a significant portion of those for sale in the New England or Florida. There's a ton of Kizashies for sale in Florida. Many of the listings don't specify the tranny, which is disappointing because the majority of those listings are the CVT upon closer inspection. The data I'm polling right now is just from cars.com/CarMax, so this shouldn't be an exhaustive list by any means.

One likely possibility is that there's a higher concentration of Suzuki dealerships on the East Coast. It's also possible that more people are returning/trading their Kizashies on the East Coast than in other places in the country. :?: I'm sure if I opened up this to all Kizashies, I'd probably find a more even spread.

+1 dealer network is the main reason for the concentration.

http://www.cargurus.com/ is the best site I have found for tracking rare cars for sale.

One of the dealers out in Pittsburgh was buying up all Suzuki models from other dealers around the time Suzuki bailed from NA. They had a satellite lot FULL of all kinds of models at that time. Someone had posted a picture of the lots back then. If you look at the used-car parts site(salavage parts), P-burg has the largest concentration of Kizashis at the moment.
