Test fitting LED tube

I bought these super cheap led tubes with switchback turn signals on ebay. They are pretty horrible quality, as you can see below when wired correctly one tube illuminates the amber switchback leds along with the white leds, they must have crossed the wires in manufacturing. Also there is a dead spot in the white leds on one tube. I have a case opened with the seller but i am afraid i will not get anywhere with it, the response i got was unintelligible.

I tried test fitting the good tube to see if it is even worth the effort. It looks okay, the tube needs to be shortened slightly but i will wait and see what happens with the ebay case. Here is a link to the listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/281517321676?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

Why spend all that time, money, and effort making the car look supposedly better, and then leave the roof bars on ?

Not a fan of aftermarket LED strip lighting in headlights. If they don't come stock with them, I won't add them.

Cool, those are pretty bright. How did you wire them up?

They are not wired up at all I simply stuck the power wires into the terminals on a 12v drill battery and scotch taped the tube to the top of the headlight to see how it would look. I may or may end up installing them. I cant until i get the other one replaced anyway. If i use them i want them to look factory installed, and they don't the way they are now.

Also paininthenuts, the photo below my username should answer your question.

I leave the roof bars on my SX4 all the time. I rather like the look...

It'll be hard to get an OEM look without opening up the headlights

Update - after requesting a replacement, seller offered first nothing "sorry unfortunate things happen" then 75% refund, and now they are shipping a replacement. Hopefully it was tested. Still not sure what I will do with them.

If i put them on, i will either shorten them and putting them here:

or put them here but make little cutouts in the black plastic for the curve part to sit all the way in

I think they look too long here:

And here they look too unnoticeable:

I think the bottom of the grille looks best. Wire them to the side markers, unplug the parking bulbs in the headlights and you'll have a clean look

I was going to wire them to the drl control signal from under the dash and disable the factory drl
