Hell, my name is Jasper and I am from The Netherlands.
I have just bought a Kizashi 2012 (sport) which will be delivered in a week :)

a question about the audio system: does it play MP3 tracks from a USB stick ? and from a CD?
It's without the satnav.

Thanks, hope to have fun here and with the Kizashi!

Welcome to the club!

Yes, it does play mp3 tracks from a stick. For some reason it will only play usb sticks that are 8gb or smaller though. You should buy a short usb however, so you're able to shut the lid covering the port (if something like that bothers you). CDs also play, but not simultaneously with the usb.

A short usb! I used a usb stick once but because I did not like leaving the lid open started copying the MP3's to CD's. I never thought of getting a shorter usb. Thanks, I have learned so much from this board.

Thank you for the information. I would like to prepare a stick for my first drive :)
Will post some pictures later.

If you own an MP3 player like an iPod, that works well with the USB port too. The "Menu" button in USB mode allows you to search the USB device for artists, albums, songs, etc.

I use a 32GB USB Stick that's half full of music in my 2011 SE, and it works gloriously.

I'd also like to take this time to point out that the MP3 selection controls are incredibly intuitive compared to some other cars. I've been using the USB from my Kizashi in the 2011 Chevy Cruze Eco that I got a few months ago, and the music controls in the Cruze, frankly, just suck. In the Cruze, the media controls are on the right hand side of the steering wheel, which is dumb because my Cruze is a manual, so I can't shift gears and songs at the same time, like I can in my Kizashi.

Besides that, I have the music in my USB stick grouped so that each artist gets their own folder. In the Kizashi, it's super easy to scan folders with the dial while driving, and your music starts playing automatically. And when I've listened to all of the music in one folder, it automatically starts the next folder, unless I tell it to repeat. In my Cruze, there's this really convoluted folder tree that I have to search with a dial to find THE folder I want to listen to, and then it just repeats that one folder forever until I reopen the stupid folder tree to pick a new folder, or tell it to PLAY ALL. And if I tried to find a folder in my Cruze while I'm driving, I'd probably crash.

One last thing, in the Kizashi, you can randomize the music in a single sub-folder. I might be the only one, but I think that's pretty awesome, and I can't do that in my Cruze easily.

Hey welcome to the club Jasper! It really depends on the brand...I bought one which did not work (8 gb). I then found a Kingston which works and you can close the lid!

You could probably buy a bigger one if you want.

Keep in mind that the USB has to be formatted in FAT32
