Hey all,
I put new tires on my car at about 19k miles...the original tires wore like crap. I now have 60k mile Hankook's on it and they are wearing like crap. They are 4/10's down with 12k miles on them...they are wearing evenly, which tells me it is not that an alignment thing, I think. So...what kind of tires are you all having luck with? I need a new option...or this is going to get expensive...
Thanks!

I have somewhat mundane Eagle LS2s on mine, have driven the car just under 10k miles and barely any wear on them. Have only rotated them once so far.

I really like my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires so far. I've had them since early last fall. They have great grip but low road noise. Snow grip is adequate, but I'm sure some other All Seasons are better. However, if you're like me and prefer superior dry and wet grip over snow traction, I think the Pilot Sport A/S 3's are great. They are costly though so try get them when Michelin's doing a rebate.

Te tyres I have on my new car are similar to my old ones, they are black and have got grooves in. It's unusual for me to ever keep a car longer than the first set of tyres. Are there actually places that sell these things ?

One of my original Dunlaps got a puncture in the sidewall that could not be fixed so I got a Hankook (727 I believe) that I had read good things about. It did quiet the ride somewhat (good for one tire out of four) but was wearing out fast. The Hankook never did balance well I had it rebalanced twice. When I did replace all the tires I went with Michelin Defenders mainly because they are long wearing. I now have about 9k on the Defenders and the ride has quieted down considerably and they seem to be holding up well.

Those are the king of the UHP A/S class. I'm curious how the new BFGoodrich UHP tires compare though.

I just got some sad news...I bent a rim last winter in a massive pothole. I knew it was bent, but it wasn't causing too much of a problem so I stuck with it because it wasn't really giving my a problem. Well...I have had a slow leak for the last 3 days...and I have brought the car in to the tire place the last 2 days. Yesterday they fixed the bead and said I was good...this morning the light was on again...so I brought it in again...they now are saying my rim has a small crack in it which is causing the problem. UGH! I know the OEM rims are like $600-$700 a piece...but the guy at the shop said he can get me an after market replacement now for $260. What are your thoughts?

I'd check ebay. I got a set of 4 used gts rims with tpms sensors for $280 including shipping.
