Hello,

I have kizashi 2011 which has light sensor. When I have the lights set on auto they are on all the time. I mean headlights tail lights door lights everything as if it was during the night.

So my question is, how, or is it possible to set somehow that if I have the lights set on auto... during the day will be on just the front lights( but not the xenons...just the front parking lights or how is it called and the tail lights will be also off???

Because I do not see any meaning of auto set on this car...the lights are just still on every time. If I set the lights off, on or auto they are on when the engine is running.
Please if any suggestions or questions it will be very helpfull.
Thank you

You have a fault. When on auto, the lights should only come on when there is a lack of light. I would suspect your sensor is buggered. As far as day light running lights are concerned, the Kizi doesn't have them.

I wish mine didn't have them. Maybe we should compare US and Europe wiring diagrams.

They have them in North America. The DRLs work by utilizing the high beam's bulbs at low wattage whenever the engine is on and the handbrake is released.

That's strange. Nearly every new car in the UK for about 4 years has had them, but the Kizi didn't. When I bought the car it made reference to them in the handbook, and even gave instruction on them in the handbook. I thought I was doing something wrong, or they weren't working, but then noticed every other Kizi I have seen does not have them either.

Yes, it's rather odd given the US doesn't require them. However, Canada does by law so I bet Suzuki just made all North American models the same to comply with Canadian specs. Even my 1998 Suzuki Sidekick had DRLs. I find it odd that they didn't have DRLs for the UK given the cloudy conditions that the isles are known for. However, Euro Kizashis get neat things like rear fog lights, factory HIDs, etc. that weren't even offered as options for North America.

I think an electrical system-savvy Kizashi owner should figure out a way of disabling the Kizashi's DRLs and wiring auxiliary LEDs or even the position bulbs as the DRL. Bootymac found the DRL's trigger pin in a harness so we know how to disable it. I personally want DRLs, but just not the high beam's halogen bulbs at low wattage. I now have 20 lumen T10 LED position bulbs so if I can rewire those as DRLs, it would be nice.

Where are you located?
If you are in North America, you already have these DRLs. If not, you'll likely need the module that enables them.
