Good day all,

My kizashi, after i push in the brakes, and press the start button it wont start. The light on the dash board comes on and also the ac, but the car wont start.

I would have to repeat the process about 2 or 3 times, and then it starts.

Any one else with this problem or solution.

Please Help.

Given you mention nothing of the clutch pedal, I assume you have an automatic model.
Is your car cranking?

If it's not cranking, you may have a weak battery. What model year is your car and have you replaced your battery yet?

Cranking is the noise you hear when the engine tries to turn on. Does it make any noise or does it just turn on the fans and stereo with no attempt to start the engine? You may need to take the car into a service dealer if it's related to the issue in the link. Before doing that though, I'd suggest disconnecting the negative terminal of the car battery for several minutes. Inspect the positive terminal to make sure it's on properly. Reconnect the negative and try starting the car.

Make sure you push the brake first, then the start button. There's an interlock there. Also, when you first hit the start button, do you hear a noticeable click that is the steering interlock being released?

Also, if you don't press the brake and hit the start button, is that identical to what is happening when you do press the brake and start button?

Does it act like it's simply going into accessory mode like you haven't pressed the brake at all?
