Just out of curiosity , what do you guys thing of buying a third party extended warranty.. I saw a commercial on tv about this company that does this. I sent them what I have . they called .. since my car is only 56000 miles for 2011 GTS AWD. they said it qualifies for a new car plan. 6 years 125000 miles. and covers everything bumper to bumper.. with 100 dollar deductible .. is this something to think about or a rip off type of thing

I would only buy an extended warranty from a dealer or one that has Consumer Reports blessing.
99% of them are rip offs.

When I buy, I only buy extended warranties offered directly by the manufacturer of whatever it is. Heatpump, car, appliance. No finger pointing or "you have to take it to one of OUR affiliated repair centers" BS. I want a Trane certified HVAC contractor working on my Trane unit and not some schlep injecting more problems into the unit he's not terribly familiar with, and, has no direct working relationship with Trane. Same goes for cars. With that logic, we are now out of luck as far as extended warranties from/for Suzuki are concerned.

As long as it is in writing that you are permitted to take your vehicle to an authorized Suzuki Service Center (or wherever YOU choose to) and they won't balk at an outrageous diag or repair bill, it might then be worth looking into.

Yes they said I can take it to them if I wanted to . although it is a Nissan place now.
to my own mechanic or them they were very clear on that.

I suppose my next question would be is does your mechanic/Nissan dealer transact directly w/ said ext. warranty company (will they accept arguing w/ the warranty company about every little thing), or, do have to pay the garage first out of pocket and then hope-n-haggle with the warranty company to get reimbursed?

Big time ripoff. If you read the contract lets says ball joints for example it will not cover them if they wear out ,only if they fail. How ball joints fail without wearing out is beyond me but that is the way these warranties work. They claim to cover everything but really cover nothing. Save your money.

The best Allstate Insurance Company warranty is worthwhile, if you don't like gambling........
