Shifting

Hey Guys,

I've got the auto kizashi 2011 XLS.

Ive started using the manual gearing, I saw in a video for another car they didn't take their foot off the execrator when shifting up.

From testing that it seem to be the same for the kizashi, however what about down shifting whilst holding the execrator?

Thanks

If you were actually racing and you wanted to drop a gear you would really want to double clutch to down shift....

Just realized you were probably talking about the cvt. You can probably downshift while staying on the gas no problem. I do it in my Forester XT all the time. That said, the Forester XT's cvt is used in the 2015+ WRX so it is intended to see abuse. Down shifting on the gas is smooth when done in the Forester. If you feel the car shudder when you do it something is probably slipping and it could cause damage to the car.
