Just got my car (back from 90.000 km service.
Dealer told me it's leaking oil from 'between engine and transmission'.
Not very much, a drop, but they would like to check it.
That would however mean an engine and transmission out - and a hell of a job.
Since there is not even the slightest trace of any oil at my regular/daily parking spot, I decided to leave it as it is.
Also got rear brake pads replaced, and need a new battery according to dealer, as it is at 50%.
2 license plate lamps & wiper blades got replaced. That's 'bout it.

75,000 on my 2010 Kizaski S FWD with no real problems. Had my battery checked last year @ O'Reilly's & Advance Auto. Both told me I needed to replace the battery. Instead I bought a power pack in case I need to jump the battery. The battery & Kiz just keep going!

Hi Guys,

I haven't been on in a long while but have missed the group. I love my 2012 SLS AWD and hope to keep it another 6 years/ 100K miles. That being said I suppose you could say that I got lucky that my transmission bit it at 96K last October. Suzuki did honor the 100K power train warranty and put a brand new tranny in. They also added some sort of new computer module that will supposedly prevent the same issue in the future. The whole thing cost me about $400 (for misc. items / service that were recommended but not covered by the the warranty). In addition to that I spent about $600 on a rental car because as has been mentioned on this thread, parts are hard to come by.

All this being said I love the car and hope to have it for a long time. I'm afraid though that my right rear shock is failing and yes I did have the recall performed a few years ago when it was first issued. Thanks for the rockauto lead though :-)

Can you give more info on the "computer module" as I had my CVT replaced about 20k miles ago but no mention of anything computer related. Could they have possibly updated the code on the TCU? (transmission control unit)

Early on, in this forums life, a member had his 2010 trans crap out on him on the PA turnpike running through the western part of the state. When the dealer replaced the trans he'd informed us all that the TCM (transmission control module) was replaced at the same time. There are at least 2 different TCMs and CVTs for our AWD cars (different models of each for the FWD models as well) and they are matched to the particular generation of CVT that's in the car. It's totally reasonable to expect that a trans swap, with a newly manufactured model of the CVT today, in to and older model vehicle would require the matching TCM to be installed as well. It's all bout your VIN...that's what they're supposed to base all repair procedures on.
