Hi, I have recently purchased a 2011 Kizashi would someone be able to tell me how to reset the trip computers please? Also has anyone had their Kizashi remapped and if so what are the pro’s and con’s of doing this?
Cheers
Alan

Welcome Sticko!

Use the bottom right button to display the trip counter you want, then hold that same button up towards you for two or three seconds to reset to zero.

Here's the owner's manual: https://kizashiclub.com/forum/download/file.php?id=3585

What do you mean by remapped? If you mean a faster program for the engine control computer. your choices are going to be slim. RRM made a computer upgrade module, looks as if they still have some left: https://roadracemotorsports.com/store/

Keep in mind with ANY reprogramming of the engine control computer on ANY car. The factory engineers spent thousands of hours writing these programs and the end result is a careful balance of performance, efficiency, emissions, and reliability. There's a small safety zone built in to each factor to ensure reliability. Any reprogramming to improve on any one of those factors is either robbing from another factor or eating away at the safety zone. There is no free lunch. If you could simply turn a knob and get substanially better performance without any downside, then the factory would have done that and advertised the car as having more horsepower. If you got a car with the CVT automatic, it comes with the engine detuned to deliver 5 less horsepower. This is to reduce strain on the CVT, which is already a dodgy unit. Obviously the engine can be tuned to make more power, but what is the long term effect on the CVT, which people are having trouble with in stock tune? What if doing that makes the CVT blow up at 80K miles instead of the 130K miles that some are experiencing already? No one repairs them and a new one costs $5,000, if it blows then your car is junk. Anyone can reprogram the maps to get more power out, drive it 10K miles, and start selling them. But has anyone tested it for 100K miles?

"Your mileage may vary" has never meant more than it does in this situation. With an abandoned car model it's a risky proposition.

Quick note on CVT "detuned" engines. The revs are limited delivering 5 less HP at red line.
MT 185 HP @ 6500 rpm
CVT 180 HP @ 6000 rpm

So if you wanted to change the rev limiter on the CVT models, you'd get 185 @ 6500. Not sure really what good it would do you.

CVT Kizashis also limit available torque from a dead stop to enhance CVT durability.
Once they get rolling, though...........

I am completely agree about ECU remapping it's really not worth the risk on CVT.But I found 2 solution to increase hp and response of my car
First buy K&N Filter

and second use potent Booster to increase throttle response

I am using these modification and really pleased and so far no harm to my car (130,000Km)

K&N filter will increase the highest output your engine can put out by a HP or two, but only at wide open throttle near the redline.

Potent Booster is 100% bullshit. It changes the feel of the throttle pedal itself, does nothing to the engine.

Tim's 'boost':

--lightweight wheels
--premium gas
--good spark plugs
--floored throttle

Yes potent booster don't increase HP but make throttle response faster and more sporty I don't agree with you about Potent Booster. I think potent booster is active component that change you throttle response PWM pulse to ECM according to driver need it can make your car accelerate faster but consume more fuel of course and vice versa.
I don't speak about all product in market but in my experience this box is great.

...and, allow the engine to ingest a whole lotta crap. If you travel anywhere with airborne particulate, not necessarily visible, it'll get past the K&N and be ingested. Been there, done that. Whatever meager perceived gains are maybe realized, they'll be wiped out by a guaranteed cruddy intake system. K&N needs to include, at a minimum, MAF cleaner in their filter 'service' kit.

So will stepping down harder on the pedal. This is exactly the same thing as tightening the throttle cable on an old school setup, or playing with the springs on the throttle pedal. It changes the response to the motion of your foot, but full throttle is still 180 HP, it's a placebo.

The fact that it claims to improve cornering should be a red flag.
