How to use Cruise Control?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

I have a 2013 kizashi and can't seem to get the cruise control function to work. I read the manual but still can't.

When the car is on ACC, pressing the cruise button on the steering wheel turns on a green 'cruise' light on the speedometer area, but as soon as the car starts it goes away, and it doesn't come on while the car is moving, even after repeated presses and long presses. Please help.

About the only thing I'd suggest is resetting the body computer. If indeed that's what controls it. Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and then reconnect it. See if that helps.

Keep in mind cruise control function is blocked by any trouble codes in engine and transmission as a way to get the customer back to the shop to get it fixed. Many vehicle owners have grown numb to the check engine light on and turning off the creature comforts is their next trick. So yes , a loose gas cap can knock out your cruise control.

Oh my, yes my car has a bad O2 sensor and a check engine light, so that's why it isn't working! Thanks alot!

Also do you happen to know anything about these codes?

Down stream sensor? I'm sorry I don't know what that is. Can you tell me the part number?

The downstream o2 sensor is oem number 1821357L00 it carries a hefty price at the dealer. You can get a high quality Denso brand with part number 234-4303 for $98.50 on ebay.

The "downstream sensor" is the oxygen sensor found behind/after the catalytic converter. The "upstream sensor" is the oxygen sensor found in front/before it (on the exhaust manifold coming out of the engine). The downstream sensor monitors the efficacy of the catalytic converter.
