hey guys can you get me a video of the cruising speed of the CVT kizashi at 3000 rpm? The gear ratio calculators say it should touch about 169 km/h or 105 mph but that seems a little ridiculous.

Based on my actual driving in my 2011 S AWD, I'd say 3,000 rpm / 105 mph is actually right in the ballpark.

3000 rpms in the MT is 80mph in 6th gear, 65mph in 5th gear. :D

hahaha i know there are lots of magazines and stuff reporting the exact same thing. The cvt has different ratios though. I would try it out myself but i'm out of town right now and got into sort of an argument.... with 100 bucks on it xD.

I can tell you that the 105 mph figure is on the money from first-hand experience, not that I am proud of it, but it was a dark night on the Mass Pike....

Well, considering this type of test would technically be breaking the law unless it was done at a track, I can't comment based off of my personal experience... however, my alter ego... well, he thinks about things a bit differently than I do... Some people consider him crazier than Roger Rabbit... he's been known to crave a Wendy's Baconator more times in a week than is healthy... all I know is, he's called "My Ego-Stig." So, based off of his first-hand experience, I can confirm than the 2011 Kizashi Sport GTS AWD was doing 100 mph with the rpm's reading just below 3,000. Certainly, he wanted to do more, but he heard me yell at him that he was getting ready to past a State Police Weigh Station... that's when he eased off the accelator and decided that was close enough for now. Hopefully that helps you out, as I have no doubts the extra 5 mph would've settled on the 3,000 rpm mark.

Isn't a baconator once a week more than is healthy? :-)
