This is/was the demonstrator Kizashi at a local dealer. XL model, CVT. Was stationary and waiting to turn when struck from the rear by a Toyota Surf 4WD. Possibly at about 80 kilometres per hour. The 2 vehicles were enmeshed and had to be separated. The Kizashi was pushed forward 20 to 30 metres after impact. The passenger compartment was quite intact with doors still able to be opened. The driver recieved little more than scratches, bumps and bruises.
The Toyota surf was extensively damaged with a twisted chassis.

Wow! That's impressive. It looks like he was keeping his recycling in the trunk.

Recycling today, but it was the weekly shopping prior to a chance encounter with a Toyota Surf!

What an awesome real life example of how the kizashi holds up. Shame though. Killing an kizashi in the wild...so so wrong

I like the way the exhaust pipes stayed put and everythng around them got pushed in!
It does expose to the world that that the nice looking exhausts are just cowling though
Hope the driver was ok?

That's how a rear impact ideally SHOULD look. See how well the rear door stayed in shape. It looks like you might actually be able to open it.

The doors opening and closing is one of the most telling features of a safe vehicle. So it held up very well.

Wow! All windows fully intact! That is very important to me considering my daughter is with me at least half the time. Good to see/know!
