Kizashi Club

I have an optional Suzuki Bluetooth fitted to my Kizashi. I have an iPhone 4. The 2 are paired successfully. However, problem is sometimes they fail to connect ( which is quite often!!). When this happens, I have to turn off Bluetooth on my iPhone & turn then turn on again for the devices to connect each other again. This is just annoying. Surely, the iPhone should just connect every time I get in the car. Does anyone else have this problem?

I just posted a reply to another post regarding my complaint about the in dash Nav. I mentioned my only complaint about the car is with the techno stuff bolted on the car. Car wise... the car rocks. The geek add ons are somewhat to be desired, although they do all work.

With that said, I have the same problem with my BT. I thought maybe it was because I do also have 2 phones paired with my car and both of those phones are also paired with another ear piece blue tooth I use at work. I've noticed that if I've used my phone with my ear piece since the last time I was in the car I usually have to use the BT console to reconnect the phone. This may just be a BT thing, because I see the same behavior between other BT devices. I'm not sure if you're having a similar problem bkcheong, but that's what I've seen and its a minor inconvenience I've managed to work around.

My other big complaint is that if I'm on the phone and park. I can't turn the car off or it shuts off the entire stereo/nav/BT system as well. This is a little annoying for other reasons (I'm not a huge fan of the push button start / accessory power function on the car), but it takes my phone forever to recognize that the BT is gone. I don't think its my phone because my wife has the same phone and in her Nissan the phone switches off the BT pretty quickly after the car is shut off, and you are able to continue on with the convo. I've found in my Kizashi I have to finish my convo, or tell the person I'll call them back in a minute to avoid interrupting the call and losing it entirely.

I had the same problem, I think, but after I decided to just keep the BT switch in the "on" position (regardless of battery drainage) I no longer had the problem. IPhone connects consistently. Even if I dial using the IPhone, the BT in the Kizashi picks up the call.

With the Navigation system when you are on the bluetooth when you are ready to shut the car off and or get out of the car. There is a button located on the display when you are on the phone screen that will switch from the bluetooth back to the phone. Then you can shut the car off and keep talking with out waiting for the bluetooth to disconnect from your phone. The button is on the right hand side on the screen.

I'm still not a huge fan of the push button start. I see it as a kinda marketing gimmick. An ignition switch is much more robust in my opinion with the ability to shut off the engine, yet leave accessory power on. Our Nissan Rogue has the keyless / remote start, but the start is still a switch on the steering column like a traditional insert your key setup.

The push button start isn't a new idea either. That's the way a lot of cars used to start. Next thing you know they'll start selling cars with cranks on the front! They'll tell us, its to get a good workout in before we drive anywhere.

on automatic trans, if you put your car in "N" neutral and push the start button the car will turn off but the electrinics will stay on. then just put it in "P" park. I always do that when on the phone.

Nice tip. I think that even if you just switch off the car while in park without moving it to neutral first, the call automatically switches back to the BT phone, at least it does on my IPhone. I think I might miss a second or two of call but I am not sure. Wouldn't do it with an important call.
