Stereo volume

Hey there Kizashi owners. Just wondering about my stereo volume. I don't want to bust my eardrums, but like a bit more volume at times. I've never put the stereo up past 23, but don't know how much this system can handle. Knowing its a 425 watt amp, what number can this baby go up to without it damaging the speakers. Just want to play it safe. Thanks.

I have blown out my subwoofer, and it was only on 20 when I did. I think it depends on how you have your sound settings. I now have min set to treb +6, mid +4, bass +4, AVC +3. If I have just the radio on, I can take it up to 25, but if I have a CD in, 20 seems to be my max comfort level.
While my sub was blown, I turned my bass all teh way down and during a couple songs I pushed the volume to 30, just to see what the other speakers could handle as far as mid/high tones. It handled 30 no problem, with no distortion. I think the sub will be your biggest worry as far as blowing a speaker.

Thanks for the info man. Good to hear its safe at 30 but with the punch base kept at a minimum level. Don't think I'd go that high anyhow because 21 or 22 seems to be fairly comfortable. Keep on enjoying the ride.

With the settings I posted above, I typically stay between the 8-18 range. But with a weak radio signal I have taken it up to 25 with no distortion.

I play music via bluetooth on my blackberry. All of the settings are on +0, and I range between 15 and 25. City driving windows up I have it on 15, city windows down 17, interstate windows up 20, and rare occasion windows down on interstate is 25. I once cranked it to 30 while driving through the city because my friend wanted to hear what it could do.

What should I do if I blew out my RF subwoofer? Any suggestions on replacement and cost? Do warranties cover blown speakers? I have an extended warranty through the dealership I got it at. But every time I call about something, they tell me to bring it in to diagnose it. If it's under warranty, the diagnosis is free. The problem is, if the problem isn't covered under the warranty, I have to pay a diagnosis fee of $100 + whatever it costs to fix the item.

You could just get a replacement straight from Rockford Fosgate and replace it yourself.
Also, the 2010 cars had a problem with the RF subwoofer. There's a plastic dust cover which comes loose and bounces around in there causing a farting noise. That may be all that's wrong with yours. Remove the rear deck behind the seat, grab the little yarmulke looking dust cover, and throw it in the trash.

Thanks for the heads up on the plastic cover. I'll have to look into that. Can you elaborate on what to take apart to get to it, or post a link to it if its already in the forums?

Welp...that explains that noise I've been hearing.

Great. I blamed my wife. Now how do I make up with her?
