Gooday! New Kizashi owner here from Canada. White SX AWD.
I'm wondering if anyone has painted their headlight housing. I'm a big fan of this, did it to my 2000 Civic and had it on my 2005 Altima. I think it would be a great contrast on a white Kizashi.
I saw a thread where someone just put a tint over it, looks good too but I prefer the housing.

It might look good, but wouldn't it cut down a bit too much on light? I am old and it's hard to see at night...LOL

Well you don't actually do the part of the housing behind the headlight. Just all the chrome around it.
Here's an example of it stock on the SE-R.

here's a lower model to compare.

it would still cut down amount of light, the chrome reflects the lights back out the black would absorb it. If you do go this route I would recommend you upgrade the headlights to a brighter type.

No it wouldn't. As long as the reflector for the high beam is not painted, it makes no difference whatsoever to the light output. The lowbeam is a projector anyway, so all the chrome surrounding is merely cosmetic. I had my SX4 headlights apart for a projector retrofit, they came apart fairly easily with a heat gun. I don't know if the Kizashi lights use the same sealant.

I don't think so, the only thing it may affect is the brightness of your turn signal. These are projector headlights too, I think those would be even less dependent on reflection (my guess).
I guess no one has done that yet.. might have to try it myself.

Its not hard at all really. Follow the same procedures to open the headlight for the LED strip. Cover up the headlight housings. Spray paint. Put it back together.
I did my Civic when I was 18. But then I knew Civic parts are a lot easier to come by if I screw it up.
I'm surprised no one has done it yet.
