Paint problem

meh...I've got dents along with the chips on the leading edges of the hood. Simply driving it will have that effect around here for sure.

I tried that DIY painting of the front OE mud flaps I installed....waste of money and time.

It's funny reading the first comments on this thread. Maybe the Aussies didn't realize where the car was sold didn't matter in the chipping issue given all Kizashis ever sold anywhere came from only one factory in Japan. Hence, the paint issue would be prevalent anywhere.

The good news for Aussies is that the OE accessory hood deflector for the Kizashi was made in Australia and always seemed readily available there. I've even seen the Australian Domestic Market offer both a clear and a smoked one for the Kizashi. I got my OE accessory smoked hood deflector (Made in Australia) from a US-based online parts dealer early on and it paid off; the hood isn't too bad with chipping.
