Hey guys I've owned my Kizashi since 2012, It's a 2010 XLS. Bought it with 50,000km on the clock and worked up an average of 30,000km a year. Presently it has 204,000km but it's going just as great as back in 2012. Anyway the suspension is was starting to feel slouchy so I looked around for a replacement perhaps an upgrade.

Suzuki wanted for the rear $240+gst each shock, $136+gst each spring, fronts $360+gst shock, $182+gst spring... Thats $2,019.60 for the lot not fitted. With that I also found there was no listing difference between models, I was always led to believe that the Sport was slightly lower and firmer possibly not in Australia however.

After a bit of hunting around I ended up on the Tein website which had some listed distributors in Melbourne one of which was Hakon suspension in Somerton 9305 1448. They got back to me first with prices and lists and best of all no King Springs, I've had king springs before and they are great but also nasty lol

I've ended up with H&R Springs all round and KYB Shocks which were just a replacement shock not an up grade but hey should be fine. $470 for the Springs, $809 for the shocks plus fitting and 4 wheel alignment all up $1,838 and it drives beautifully.

Wow - 200k km!

Sorry a bit off topic but wondering if you have CVT? If so, I believe it's a sealed unit?

Yep it's a CVT I believe they're seal too, I've always serviced it at the dealer and I've never seen anything regarding transmission service. I'll get 300,000 out of this car easy :D

That's soooo good to hear. Nothing like real world experiences to counter fear driven myths because it's then hard to separate unfounded fears from actual fact.

My wife's i30 diesel 6sp auto too is a sealed unit and I'm not going to worry about that as well and just keep servicing it to the book - it does say the fluid has to be replaced only under very abnormal severe driving conditions.

I read another forum post too about a Lexus IS250 (my previous target car before I settled on the far better value Kiz), whereby the bloke had emptied out the tranny for the first time after 250k km and he said the fluid wasn't that bad ie. dark and did its job but hardly sludge. Lubricant technology has really come a long way in 20 years and I think some of us older Gen X+ motorheads we just can't get our head around it!

You made my day! :)
