Anybody think of plasti dipping their kizashi. I'm tired of the crappy paint job. I know a guy who dipped his optima from blue to this nice orange.

I have no experience with Plasti Dip so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it peel off once the coating was compromised like by a deep scratch, rock chip, etc.?
I see Plasti Dip as a temporary coating that is intended to peel off after some time. This makes me think it will do poorly as a finish for an extended duration.
However, like I said, I've never used the stuff so I have no idea how it actually looks like in terms of a durable finish.

I find it hard to believe someone could do a whole car in it (using pressure packs) and have it turn out looking okay- like that Optima? Is that really Plasti Dip?

Just doing the blackout on my front bar (using the Smoke colour) was a nightmare. It's very easy to get an orange peel effect and without the Glossifier the finish is very matt. I'd imagine the glossifier would just highlight the orange peel and make it look worse?

I've seen a few cars with it. The finish is almost like a matte color/texture but there are additives that are being produced that make the dip more durable. I'm also new to plasti-dip. The fact that one defect may cause the entire thing to peel is the first question that came to mind. Everyone I know seems happy with the finish for $800.

Here is a closer look. I'd really consider forking over the cash to get my kizashi in a nice red or a glossy blue like this optima was before it was dipped.

Plastidipped cars never look right IMO. Vinyl wraps would be a better option if you want the matte look

The colour his tail lights are done in looks like what I used on my front bar. It appears to be wet in that photo and covered in leaves, dirt etc.

Yeah, it's just dirt and leaves. A job like that is supposed to last up to 3 years. I can't imagine it being easy to peel off after 3 years though.
