Yeah a vt55 that cheap was a steal. My vt30 cost more than that. But with the tire pressure relearn, even these aren't necessary--at least with factory sensors.

Great to hear! Any sensor that confirms to the original VDO Continental specs should be able to be triggered. But sensors that clone or do other tricks may not due to design differences (although I would think they would too).

I got the Autel TS508 TPMS tool and so far it did not solve my flashing TPMS light. It is supposed to read my DTC codes to tell me why I'm getting that flashing light. I ran the "TPMS Diagnose" procedure which involved reading each of the sensors then display the status of each sensor, which it does. In fact I'm impressed how fast it reads the sensors. It reads the sensors on my Kizashi and my Toyota Sienna within 2-3 seconds. After reading all four sensors a chart pops up showing the ID, battery status, PSI, temp and if there is any errors. According to the chart there are no errors. Then it is supposed to have me plug into the OBD port to read the sensor ID's and DTC's from the ECU. It never asks me to plug into OBD port. Maybe because it thinks everything is OK? OR Maybe the tool is not able to read from the ECU on Kizashi's? There is supposed to be another procedure to program the sensors with the info from the ECU but that option does not show up. That makes me think that Autel has not fully set this tool up for our orphan Kizashi's. I'm going to contact Autel support after the weekend to see what is missing. Their programing or my skills with their tool. In the mean time I made a small black sticker that I'm using to hide the flashing TPMS light.

Interesting that the Autel tool doesn't seem to be set up for the Kizashi like the vt55 and some other tools are. Hopefully they'll just have a software update for your tool and you will be able to access the obd directly and relearn the sensors.

Since your tool can read the sensors in the same way my vt30 can (could) and is much faster. I would attempt to relearn the sensors using the tool to trigger them vs letting air out of them. See what that does.

And there lies the problem w/ all of this garbage. Software fixes everything Gee, where have I heard that one before? How much time and money is constantly being wasted on all of this unnecessary non-sense? The numbers must be staggering. Look at the length and duration of this thread alone.

The first thing I did was update to the latest software.
I agree about the TPMS being unnecessary garbage. The only problem I have with my Kiz is related to the TPMS system. This expensive, time consuming and frustrating mandatory babysitter with that dam bright orange light on the dash is not going to make any real difference in "saving the planet" by reducing gas consumption. I'm doing all this to stop that orange light. For years I have drove my Kizashi around with 40+ psi in my tires to avoid that bright orange light when I would rather reduce the tires to 32psi for a more comfortable ride. When I checked the sensors on my Toyota Sienna the tires are all at about 30psi. I have never changed the air pressure since I bought the Sienna and the TPMS light has never gone on. How can one vehicle allow 30psi and the Kizashi "lights up" at anything under 35psi?

If 40 psi makes it all happy, then your sensors are likely out of calibration, Meaning the sensors think they're reporting to the car 's 'puter correctly, and they're not. In my world, I'd recalibrate them and confirm function under normal operation. In automotive (half-azzed) automation, not possible. That or/and batteries are weak, or (fill in the blank) and they just need to be replaced. Double edged sword there as well. WESHOOT says Tirerack's work...sounds like the plan for me. Don't know, because w/o the proper and functioning 'tool' (loose term) to interrogate the controls with, it's all a damn guessing game. Just to turn off a damn annoying light...

One of the reasons I bought the Autel TS508 was the ability to change the "Tire Type" & "Tire Pressure". I could change the trigger PSI down into the 20's. But so far I can not access the ECU. YET

Just realized 'door jamb' pressures are closer to 40psi (38?) than 32. Explains the annoying light at 32. I run 41 front and 39 rear w/ the current set of tires...handles better.
