Thought this might motivate somebody with similar taste to me :P Basically I have the bob-standard audio system and wanted to get a bit more bass from it. Im not a massive bass head or a HUGE audio enthusiast but I was left wanting more. After 2 years I've finally committed to a sub.

Originally I was going to hide it in behind the boot lining but after a few nights fiddling with different designs I couldn't quite get a box designed that didn't vibrate or push the boot lining all out of shape.

Location that didn't work...

Eventually I threw my hands up and just decided to make a box. The sub I got (Pioneer TS-SW251 10") has a 3" mounting depth so I was able to get the box down to a pretty nice compact size, I ended up 1L short of the recommended size but I'm not hugely fussed. Box is 10cm deep/ around 5.5in so its very boot space friendly. Im yet to work out a mounting spot to keep the amp out of the way but for now its alright on the boot floor. Long story short I'm very happy with my results and have proved to myself you don't need a boot full of Boxes to get nice bass.

Sadly the subs distorted the mic a bit but you get the gist of before and after. The system EQ is at +4 for bass, +2 Treble. Amp gain is sitting at about 1/3 (nice amount without distorting even though the audio doesn't seem so), volume 20.

Hopefully this helps somebody. :)

Total cost: $192 AUD

Very nice! Looks quite clean.

Do you have enough room behind the sub and between the seat for the amp? Then you could just mount it on the back of the sub/seats.

Hm I could slide it forwards a bit, at the moment its up against it in all places. Im a bit cautious of concealing it too much, it gets pretty warm. At the moment im leaning towards up under the parcel tray but behind the sub would probably get enough air aswell.

Sounds like you're getting some decent bass from it. :)
