12v socket in console not working?

I was going to power my new car dash camera to the 12v socket in the console instead of the one just beneath the radio. To my surprise there was no power to it! Has anyone encountered this issue or am I missing something!?

I have the SLS so mines is a little different. I just have a power point so my question is are you sure it is just a power point an not a cig lighter ?

Mine is an XLS model, here in Australia, and yep, it's definitely a 12v socket.

Intersting. I just used our center armrest/console one yesterday and it worked fine.
Do you have something else you can try in there? I've seen some devices not like a power outlet based on the outlet/plug design. I ran into this with one of my Valentine Ones until I just got an extension for it to work off of.

Problem solved! It was a blown fuse! The location of this particular fuse (under heading accessory socket 2) is in the fuse box just below the steering wheel.
