Some Kizashi's had the rear sub powered from the factory head unit - the UK models are set up like this. Perhaps Malaysia is the same?

If your subwoofer looks like this one then you have the type that is amplified by the OEM head unit:

If it looks like this then you have the Rockford Fosgate system and will have the amplifier hidden in your boot:

Thanks for sharing the picture , will take my sub's pic and post it. But the picture above looks similar since mine does not have a Fosgate label . Will check and update. Thanks

The Rockford Fosgate sub also has a four wire plug going to the sub. I'm 99% certain the head unit amplified sub has only two wires.

Yes, that's definitely not the RF sub. You could get your subwoofer working again- you'd need an amplifier with speaker level inputs.

My Kizashi has the wiring in place (for the same sub you've got), but my stock head unit wasn't connected to the wires (they run to the rear of the head unit) and doesn't have the extra internal amplifier. They've kindly spot welded a metal plate over the sub hole at the factory too!

If you could find a small amplifier- that could be hidden in the dash near the head unit- it would be an easy fix. You shouldn't need much power from the amp.

Edit: there's a bit of info here on the wiring I found in my Kizashi and the sub woofer you appear to have: http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... =28&t=2149

Dave, have you seen this limited edition Kizash in Malaysia? http://www.wemotor.com/blog/2014/05/lau ... 07-20-otr/

It's got a Kenwood DNX5350BT head unit, http://www.kenwood.com/au/car/visual_na ... dnx5350bt/ - which is only a four channel amplified head unit. That means it would have to lose the sub woofer functionality- or else Suzuki have fitted an extra amp like you require. ;)

David, you extremely right. I actually purchased the Suzuki Kizashi after looking at the add. Guess what. the head-unit is an option hence it up to the customer if they would like to fit this after market unit which has all the necessary tools for daily driving, and off cause additional cost involve for this unit.

My query to Suzuki was if they have an option for after market unit than why my sub was not working hence after installing the original head-unit the subs work ? I strongly believe all goods are to be tested and verified on the compatibility.

Suzuki Malaysia is looking into the issue and getting their technical specialist to look into my case.

Its a new car and the mileage is only 1900km. I believe this should be fixed and tested before even recommending to the public. Well i will wait and get their feedback.

Will share with you and everyone on the outcome.

As for the info , thank you so much, it has given me some sort of idea why the subs was not working. Thanks again.

If I were able to find an OEM Kizashi Navigation System would it be as simple as dropping it in plus some minor wiring?

I know the OEM isn't great but I fear that having a Car Audio Installer install a aftermarket System may screw-up and in putting back the original Stereo would also screw that up.

What Kizashi model / head unit do you have stock - and where do you live?

I've installed the Aussie spec OEM Kenwood Navigation unit into my Kizashi. (Stock system was the non RF stereo.) It came as a kit with full instructions.
