When I bought my Kizashi it had aftermarket rims on it. I negotiated with the dealer to also give me the stock steelie rims. Now eight years later I put tires on those steelie rims and put them on the car. I drove around and discovered that the wheels need balancing so I took them off. These rims where only on the hubs for a day and I discovered the two rear rims where seized to the hubs. Have others with stock steel rims on their Kizashi had trouble removing them from the rear hubs?

Not with the kizashi but a new mini cooper. Had to get under the car and use a big rubber hammer. I am always using some copaslip for the bolts and the hub to prevent this.

Could be the center of the hub is rusty and the rim. Tightening the lugs would make it quite tight. If rusty, take a rotary wire brush on your drill and get the rust off.

I took a rotary brush to the entire hub and sprayed a light coat of enamel paint. I also put anti seize on the rim. In a few months we will see if it did any good.

I ran into this the first year after having the winter set on. A little vibration into the tire via my fist shook it loose after a few minutes.

From that point on, I've used fluidfilm on the hub on the winter steelies and haven't had any issues. 8-)
