Cleaning PCV valve

The Do It Yourself section is used provide assistance with mods and fixes. Whenever you are making a change to your car please take pictures and notes. Let others know what to watch out for and any useful tricks you learn. PCV Valve Inspection
1)Disconnect PCV valve from cylinder head cover and install plug in head cover hole.

2)Run engine at idle speed.

3)Place your finger over end of PCV valve (1) to check for vacuum.
If there is no vacuum, check for clogged valve referring to step 4).

4)Stop engine and remove PCV valve (1).
Install clean hose to valve and check that there is air flow when blowing air into hose from [a] to and that there is no air flow when blowing air into hose from to [a] as shown in figure.
If faulty condition is found, replace PCV valve.

Tightening torque
PCV valve: 2.5 N·m (0.25 kg-m, 2.0 lbf-ft)

my car at 151km follow the procedure in the service manual and use an injector cleaner spray to clean the PCV valve.everything checks out OK :)

Interesting... Will definitely be trying this. Do I need any special tools?

just a plier to lose PCV and hose.
be careful not to over tight PCV
