Hi all from New Zealand ;)

Ive just pulled the trigger on a 2011 LTD 6sp Manual thats done 106101kms for NZ$ 10,000 about US$ 7163 or EUR 5962.
Full cover insurance for over 25y olds $315 per year excess $500.

2 owners with service records, im flying up to Auckland this sat and driving back aprox 763kms or 474 miles to Christchurch , includes a 3 hr ferry crossing , i'll do this as an over nighter along the way should be a hoot :) Has the Rockford Fosgate 425W 10 speaker stereo & Subwoofer.

Pretty hard to find a manual , plenty of auto's but not many people have records for CVT servicing, so after reading up around here about the CVT... manual it was. From what ive seen there are only a hand full of AWDs about ,rare like manuals. Trims available are GLX - cloth or LTD - leather, sun roof etc sport versions available.

Fuel available down here is Unleaded 91 , 95/96 , 98 or 100 octane , prices $1.97 - $ 2.27 ltr.

I'll be checking the service records and actually see whats been done then see whats due or need doing . Minor servicing like oil and filter changes i'll do myself.

Cheers Cantab

Welcome Cantab

I'm sure you'll enjoy your "new" car, they're a blast to drive. The trip bringing it home sounds like fun.

Welcome. Since you are in New Zealand, I take it that the car is a right hand drive. Read up on the clutch pedal bracket issue that RHD manuals are prone to. It's an issue that seems to only affect RHD manuals and not LHD manuals.

Thanks for the welcomes , i have bookmarked the CPB thread and yes its RHD, looks like i'll be asking about this from the seller and ringing my local Suzuki Dealer about possible parts availability which in this current climate would be months if ex Japan  ....never know it might be replaced already 8-)

You'll want to review the threads on this topic that was largely discussed by our Australian members. I recall they were talking about the specific vulnerability and means to replace or repair it. If I recall correctly, the issue stems from a bad weld at a joint in the bracket.
There is not too much discussion overall on the topic because you can imagine the small number of people experiencing this issue overall as it pertains to RHD manual transmission models that were sold only in select nations; Australia being a major one. As previously stated, it appears that LHD manual transmission models did not have this problem as I don't recall a single complaint of it among LHD manual owners on this forum.

So ive got the car home and it averaged 6.2lt per 100km of 95 oct pretty happy with that , quick look in the manual says 91.

Takes some time to get used to the extra 'H' in the manual especially quick downshifts around and up hills but all good, not much throw or take up on the clutch im guessing thats how they are. :drive:

Clutch pedal box and arm were replaced 2 years ago :D

Took the Kizi into a Suzuki dealer today for some servicing @ 107000KMs : G/box oil, spark plugs, coolant and Serpintine belt replaced and valve clearances checked which were ok , Bill came to $NZ 850.57 ( 501.83 Euro, $US 613.37 ) $389 labour - $55.24 materials - $294.89 parts , also asked them to check the clutch assembly and sure enough the bracket is busted....The service manager showed me what the updated part should look like.

Called the guy i bought it off this arvo and he got hold of the Suzuki dealer that 'fixed' it last time (done in 2019 , 30k back ) i now have that invoice

BRACKET CLUTCH PEDAL 49720-57L01 NZ$213.97
BRACKET PEDAL REINFORC 49729-57L00 NZ$ 385.09

I have contacted my dealer and asked if the above parts are Original or updated parts , hopefully get a reply tomorrow.

I will be contacting the other branch that fitted the new parts about warranty/repair and giving them the chance to fix this issue in the first instance.

Glad you looked into it and I hope it gets replaced with no cost to you.
I'm curious how this problem happened. A bad weld or weld location back at the factory? Interesting how it plagues RHD manuals but not the LHDs.
