I have been lurking in the shadows reading some very silly posts about various subjects. For starters I have a 2011 GTS in Azure Grey. I have seen some of the people on here talking about their mods and such. I will share any and all of my experiments with this car that DO NOT VOID THE WARRANTY. Thus far I have an intake and exhaust mod. NO, I will not make one for you, but I will share this info for FREE. Lets start with the exhaust. If you are a DIYer simply remove the tip mufflers and replace them with plain pipes. Yes it's that simple. It sounds great and it is cheap HP and MPG improvement. Here is a pic of the intake and info can be shared if interested in more HP and MPG gains. The cost of this intake was about 150 (parts and paint). There will be some more make pretty on the intake this is just my prototype. Take the time to do research before clicking add to cart and overpaying for something you can easily do yourself.

Would love to see some data behind these HP and especially MPG claims. 10 tanks before mod and 10 after would be great.

First of all tc, just about any modification that is done to an engine to increase air flow is going to gain hp. If you have any credibility in your CLAIMS of knowledge you can agree to this. Furthermore, removal of the restrictive tips at the rear further increases the performance of the engine. Thus creating, you guessed it, more hp.

If you still have a negative thought to what I have said , then go and play somewhere else. I am just sharing my experiments with anyone that would like to do it themselves or take what I have come up with thus far and further improve upon it, as opposed to buying something that I am sure al lot of people deem to overpriced.

On a fuel injected engine with O2 sensors, more air = more fuel = more power = worse gas mileage.

I have seen millions of claims otherwise, and offered my data analysis services the same way hundreds of times, and not a single person has ever taken me up on it. There is considerable variability in MPG numbers, people pick a "bad" tank for their before number and a "good" tank for their after and say "SEE!" when in actual fact, the average and standard deviation has not changed significantly, and there is no confidence that the two are distinctly different populations.

Be the first. Take me up on the offer. Random driving - 10 tanks before and 10 tanks after. Throw out any tanks that are "unusual" - for example a long, completely highway road trip.
