I did not have to ask for reprogramming my 2010 CVT, but we bought in December so it may have already been reprogrammed.

A couple of weeks ago, I test drove a 2011 manual. While I would agree that the acceleration is better in the manual and the stick shifting is about as nice as they seem to come, I still would not want to be fiddling with the stick for the daily commute. Call me an old fart or whatever, but my stick days are over (though as a youngster I had two Toyota sticks).

CVT is perfectly fine probably for most people, so you should test drive the car your self.

thx, for Reply

actually I did test drive 2010 GTS 6 SPD, with 12000 miles on it, and still going strong, at the end I bought 2010 SLS CVT FWD . IMO 6 spd offers more sport handeling, I am not sure mine got reprogramed or not , but when I called dealer accroding to them on Pully recall I have to do.

Purhcased 2010 kiz SLS Sept 2010. Car is loaded (CVT, Leather, Sun Roof, Rockport, etc). purchased for $24,500. Now have 7,500 miles averaging 30.5 mpg urban driving with air on 28.7. CVT works great. Do not expect the cvt to up shift like a normal automatic. Low end performance is lagging; however mid range is very good for 180 hp 4 cylinder. Car handles extremmely well and ride is solid. Manuals are great if you enjoy shifting and want that extra little bit of fum it does deliver. I am lazy and the cvt is fine and have not had any issues or needed getting use to how it performed. Previously had a Nissan Murano that had a cvt transmission. The Kiz is a great car that no one knows about and will set you apart form the Accord, Sonota and Carmery look what I have croud.

Had pully recall done. Has not made a difference how the Kiz drives. I have been thinking about the ecu by rrm. Everything that I have read on the forums and lit. looks like it will help the cvt perform a little better throughout it range. Especially off the line. Not much into the other mods unless a turbo comes available with a lower boost. That would not put as much stress on the cvt.
