So I have a 2012 s kizashi with 50k on it. I haven't had the transmission oil changed so I bought this mt-90 and plan on doing the change tomorrow. My concern is, does the kizzy not have a transmission filter and if it does where is it and when should it be changed? Thanks guys!

Manual transmissions don't have a filter.

At best, you might find the drain plug is magnetic to attract any ferrous metal particles floating around. Just give it a wipe over before reinstalling it.

Please post up your thoughts after the change. :)

Alright, so the change has been done and she's shifting like a champ! Honestly though the difference is small but still worth noting. Perhaps its the hot weather here in North Carolina but hopefully it'll help during the winters. Thanks again guys for the help! Oh and one last question. How often should I be changing the tranny oil??

Have to look up in the book, but probably 50k miles with good synthetic like MT90

I doubt if it's any more often than 60K, but I'll look it up.

Check or replace as necessary if you usually drive with high speed or high engine RPM vehicle
Well, that's pretty near worthless.

The "severe duty" schedule says replace every 45K mles.

Normal Schedule lists:
SUZUKI GEAR OIL 75W-80 - Replace every 150,000 km (90,000 miles) or 120 months
Other than “SUZUKI GEAR OIL 75W-80” - Replace every 45,000 km (27,000 miles) or 36 months

Something like Redline should at least match the OEM fluid for life span.

PS: You might have noticed a bigger difference in shift action with something like Redline MTL which is the exact same viscosity rating as the OEM spec 75W-80. http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?product=50204

At least you get a comprehendible change interval.

Why is it that Australia gets thinner oil recommendations? We get 75W-90 for gear lube, you get 75W-80. Just the other day you posted that 0W-20 oil was suggested, didn't you? We're supposed to use 5W-30. I thought it was hot in Australia?
