First drain of factory fill. 54,816 miles. Wife drives like a grandma. Same Jatco trans as the Kizashi however, the SX4 is much lighter and less powerful than the Kizashi.

I will say it was much cleaner than the last of the 3 drain/fills I'd done on the Kizashi at ~80k miles last fall. I could see through the fluid as it was draining w/o too much difficulty. More of a pain in the azz to get to the cartridge filter though. Only doing a single drain fill on this one. battery and battery tray had to come out. ECM is attached to battery tray as well.

Nice job. Is it a 2.0 sx4?

I'm pretty sure that in the United States the J20 was only engine available in the SX4.

Yes correct, 2.0.

After letting it cool down overnight, post hi-speed / hi-R's / manual shift test romp, it appears I overfilled it a tad bit...setting the level from an overfill sucks...literally.

I suppose this is how one can "inspect" the fluid's condition per service manual. I personally prefer just draining it, as this method is painfully slow and really, really...sucks.

I can assume the engine is a J20B. I meant to ask: does the tranny use the same filters, o-ring, and pan gasket as the Kizashi? The local service guys (Nissan) say it doesn't have any filters :? . I disagree because my car has the same secondary housing as yours. Care to shed some light on the subject, please? BTW: mine is a 2013.

The Kizashi and sx4 share the same gaskets and cooler filter. The pickup screen was lengthened when the pan was changed to a deeper one during 2012 model year for the Kizashi and these transmissions no longer had the vin tag at left axle and now come from a different plant . China built I think .I dont know if the sx4 got the new pan. The pickup screen can be washed out . The excellent pan gasket I reuse. The cooler filter (tf246 at autozone) and the oring usually is in nice shape and can also be reused. On the jf011e used in the Nissans,I think your friend is correct. Nissan plums in a cooler exchange unit right where the filter would go.

2011 SX4 used same parts as the 2010 Kizashi. Pans are the same, so I'd assume the pan filter is the same. I didn't drop the pan this time on the SX4. Can't speak to any of the newer model China trans'. The SX4's cooler lines plumb to ports directly on the radiator if I recall correctly. I'll have to check again to confirm. The Kizashi has its own separate cooler. And yes, the OE pan gasket is far superior to any of the aftermarket rubber-bands. Re-used it when I dropped the K's pan.
