So, I was driving along in my Kizashi and I pulled up to a stoplight. I turned to my left and saw this kinda wonky car right next to me...

I'd never heard of the X-90 before, and, I'm not gonna lie, this car kinda blew my mind when I saw it.

These things always make me chuckle:P Hate it or love it, I don't think that anyone can deny that these are a strange looking car. Theyre supposably not so terrible as an off-road car though (the 4wd model)?

Yes, they never sold well here.

Looks like a squashed CRX Del Sol. I wouldn't mind getting one of these as a cheap run-out, only just to be different 8-)

Yeah, the X-90 was supposed to be a funky little car with the chassis of a Suzuki Sidekick 2 door. Despite their looks, they were as offroad capable as a Sidekick and had low range 4x4. On the other had, because of its truck underpinings, these did not handle well like a car.
They never did sell well and could not compete stylistically or performance-wise to market alternatives like the Subaru Impreza.

They were really in a market of their own- being only a 2 seater with removable roof panels and offroad 4WD capabilities. (Nothing like an Impreza.)

Well, more like a market no one asked for. Most people considering this car came to their senses and bought an Impreza or actually got the Sidekick it was based on. Hence, the sales failure.
Regardless, novelty car.
