Need some help in locating the starter, I think I found it, but not 100% sure. Before I remove it maybe someone has had the same issue I am having. It won’t start, makes all these clicks and sounds, but starter won’t engage or attempts to. I hear no sound at the starter location behind the front driver’s wheel. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Starter is mounted above the right axle. I have had a few failures on the starters themselves. What happened to them is that the braided copper cable running from the solenoid to the starter motor itself gets corroded and then burns out. The starter is easily found for $30-$50 used and plentiful since it’s the same as an Sx4 . If the braided wire is intact then let’s check for incoming 12v on the single small terminal when you attempt to start. The starter could be tested by applying 12v to that same terminal on the solenoid with the harness wire disconnected. You did try just leaving drivers door open and then repeatedly push start/stop button? This will work the sometimes naughty steering lock that fails to complete the circuit .

Hello again, just wanted to tell you that you were right. The braided copper cable was burnt out. How did you get the bolt that you can’t see on the starter? They sure do not make them easy to remove. I appreciate your help.

I actually find the starter bolts to be very easy. The top one is accessed from the top coming in from the tranny side. The other , along with the positive cable nut is accessed from below. If used isnt what you want , it can be easily repaired at a starter /alternator rebuild shop.
