Thanks to traffic and my wife in the passenger seat, I have yet to experiment with topend. However, I do like the CVT on the highway for MPG, and haven't had any problems passing anyone. My only issue is being able to tell how fast I'm going. My GTS seems to like to run. Been suprised by some comments on how slow others are, mine (bone stock) seems to really move.

Has anyone tried their Kizashi at the drag strip? would like to see some track times to compare to my own once I get it down there.

Add me to the wall of shame...

I was going home yesterday, just minding my business, listening to music and even singing loud, super cruising in the middle lane at ~80mph. A jerk in a F350 gets behind me, tails gate me, and passes me as if I was blocking the traffic! Left lane was open and he was doing like 90mph, feeling the king of the road

Guess what happened? Downshift into 5th gear, I caught him in a whim (~100), passed him on the left, got in front of him, then took the right lane, back to 6th at 80mph, let him pass in the middle lane, down to 5th again, passed him on the right, back in front of him again, moved into the left, slowed down, back to 6th at 80mph, he passed me again in the middle, I let him pick some distance, then downshift to 4th and a I just powered it!

I passed him on the left lane doing aprox 115 mph, and I know he was still close to his 90 because I blasted by him too easy. When he caught up to me again, I was doing aprox 80 mph, but his time he stayed behind me :P

The Kizzy might have only 185 hp, but it surely picks speed easy in the >90mph zone, and a 4th-5th-6th power blast is a joy to do. Oh, and at those >100mph speeds, it is more about balls than horsepower, and a solid and composed sports sedan surely helps to project them bigger than they are ;)

I was a bad boy, but I so enjoyed it ;)

Alex
PS. In retrospect, dumb in my part to play with him. But in the heat of the moment...

Hi, AlexRuiz. Me bad too, but man, it is so fun to do, yup, its about balls, and the car has them.
I am sure not many have tried it, but the car can be a blast at those speeds...lol

I just downloaded two apps for my phone: RaceDroid and Car Performance. Both claim to use GPS to register and track times and performance. Tried RaceDroid today out in the country and was decently impressed with the accuracy. However, I didn't realize it did not save you run unless you had the paid version. Oh well, just have to do it again. That was the first time I had ever really gunned it from a dead stop, yes its a CVT, but, after about 20 mph, I was thoroughly impressed with the little 2.4. I will posts my results after another attempt is applicable. Feel free to download these types of apps and try them out. These two work fairly well for being free and GPS. Will submit my stats in the performance forum. Enjoy. And be safe.

Thanks for sharing AlexRuiz, I find myself doing the same thing all too often. But in this car, its hard not to.

This is my second post on Speed limiter. Suzuki Corp tells me the limit is 124 mph. We know this was proven out at Bonneville too with our turbo car. I know our car will do 160ish. I can make a box to override the speed limiter if anyone is interested in going really fast. Need to see interest from more than one guy but if I do i can get it done.
