It sounds like you may have a cylinder misfire. This will ,fairly quickly, set a code and turn engine light on . Get codes checked to see what cylinder is being naughty. Usually caused by a bad coil but can be vc gasket leaking oil and drowning plug, or carbon track grounding spark at plug.
