Just Completed Performance Upgrades

I purchased my "S" manual version approximately two[2]months past and following two[2]thousand miles of enjoyable driving decided that I need an improvement of the performance. I searched for various upgrades and selected to purchase parts from Road Race Motorsports. The price was acceptable and the technical support from Brandon and Robert most beneficial. I personally installed their "Short Ram Intake,Piggy Back ECU,Catback Exhaust and Lightweight PUlley ". According to their organization I would receive an approximate twenty[20] horsepower gain. The installation went uneventful with me taking approximately four[4]hours for the complete work. I am very impressed with the exhaust sound and not only the increased power but the weight savings through portions of the exhaust ,crankshaft pulley and cold air additions eliminated approximately 40 pounds of dead weight. Now I have a car with a curb weight of near 3200 pounds . I have driven the Hyundai Genesis 2.0 coupe [base car] on several occasions and can truely say this kizashi of mine now will easily accelerate with it. Thus I now have a car which likely will run in the 15.3 range which is less expesnive to operate/lower insurance rate . My transaxle is certainly superior to that Hundai transmission. I am awaiting headers as to the last step for this car. Hopefully that along with reflashing could give me 15 more horsepower.

Glad to hear you're happy with the results and with your car. Did you install them all at once or are you able to compare the results from different products?

The performance upgrades were all installed that same day. The installations are not difficult and consequently,I would recommend to any owner that these should all be installed once. You will really like the difference this package of 20 hp provides.

The warranty for this vehicle is 3 years/36000 miles for the bumper to bumper . It is highly unlikely that failures associated by these modifications would be covered by the manufacturer. However,if one views each of these, there is not one which I consider detrimental to the overall reliability of the vehicle. The horsepower gain is approximately 11%. Typically manufacturers design a vehicle to have a safety factor of 1.5-2.0 of the rated usage. This means that power increases can be held safely without potential failure to major components such as the engine and associated
powertrain such as clutch and transaxle. Although I am unaware of Suzuki's value, I would speculate it to be on the order of 1.5 . I currently have 2300 miles on this vehicle without any problems. If one were to add say 90hp to an otherwise stock vehicle,I would imagine there would be reliability issues

Billj: It has been a few months since your last report on the performance upgrades you installed. How is your car running with them now? Any regrets, engine computer warnings, etc? Also, on another thread, someone had asked what it takes to install the RRM pulley (time, special tools?). Can you respond to that?

I don't know if you will get a response he isn't a very active member and hasn't logged on to the site since September.

It has been many months since posting on this forum . I am still a pleased owner of my Kizashi S vehicle which has included the various RRM upgrades . I have approximately 35,000 trouble free miles and would highly recommend those few upgrades to which I installed. I have never had the vehicle on a chassis dyno nor at a track but firmly believe my weight reduction of near 20 lbs along with the reported increase of power of near 20 is very realistic. I have to admit that I have kept very good fuel logs,my overall average of 30 mpg with this setup is realistic. This setup is fun to drive.

You think 15.3's down the 1/4 mile?... I'd pay to see that.
