This is my first daily driver with a manual transmission so I'm curious to see if these are decent numbers. I am not polite with this car by any means... :drive:
You must drive nearly exclusively on highway conditions.
Mine is often in traffic or city driving conditions mixed with freeway. Consequently, I get an expected mix of city and highway fuel efficiency.
Winter average is about 23~24 MPG.
Summer average is about 25~26 MPG.
These measurements are calculated by miles/gallons consumed and not the car's readout.

Yeah, the dash display is fairly optimistic. I find it to be two to three mpg too high.

I agree with this. Only on 2 occasions has the readout for me been LESS than actual mpgs. All other times it's 2-6mpg too high.

I've found that if the readout is around 29mpg that actual is between 24.5 and 27.5mpg (huge margin). With a readout of 36.5 my actual was a tick over 30mpg. A little too optimistic if you ask me.

Edit: this is also my first manual dd, really it's my first manual period.

I'll have to start keeping track with an app again and report back. My commute to work is 14 miles each way and only the last 3 miles are highway.

My commute is 22 miles both ways. ~12 miles of each doing 65+

app schmapp, they've got this thing called math. Some can do it in their head.

I like Fuelly because, even if I could do it in my head, it maps out my mpgs visually and with money figures over a long period of time that would otherwise not stick in my head.

I love the manual, but I'm not really getting to drive it as it should be driven here in Miami (lots of flat highway, not many curves, no hills). Also been working less and less from the field and more from my home studio, so less need for driving.

It's for sale if anyone's interested: http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detai ... /overview/

I would definitely take that off your hands if! 1) I didn't have one already and 2) I had more funds for another one. lol

That is the color I was looking for when I was in my search. Good luck on that sale!

Curious, I know it's dependent on road conditions and traffic, but what RPM do you guys usually shift at. For example, let's say you were the only person at a light and it turns green on a relatively flat stretch of road and you are not in a rush.

Normally I had been shifting at 2,500-2,600-- but this past week I've tried out 3,000 just to see the impact on mpg and having a bit more fun than trying to achieve mediocre mileage.
