After a dip and red paint
Looking sharp, but I'm curious as to how long Plastidip lasts on wheels. With the higher temperatures, brake dust, and other factors, I figure the paint will wear off or chip faster than other components. Even the continual touch of a hand will wear off Plastidip. I've seen an entire car Plastidipped but the driver's side door handle was worn through and you could easily see the original color.

Well unfortunately I'm not an expert on plastidipping, but cake it up. Lite first spray then work it up from that. I threw on 5 coats then followed up with 4 coats of glossifyier. I'm hoping it'll keep itself together. But I figure washing them with slowly remove the dip and hitting curbs will eat it up.KuroNekko wrote:Looking sharp, but I'm curious as to how long Plastidip lasts on wheels. I agree with you. But I was trying to decrease the size of the headlamp to give it a sportier look. I used plastidip but would recommend using vinyl. Over the course of 3 washes, the plastidip accumulated water marks. So I removed the plastidip. But if anyone was looking to do this and needed a visual. Here ya go
