Deflation? I bought a $28,300 MSRP car for less than the $21,599 Kizashi SE back in 2010.

Since SUVs and crossovers are selling well, there's good deals on sedans. I saw an advertisement for $6,750 off a Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.4L, 2.0T Sport, or 2.0T Limited. Then I found out you can get an additional $1000 for being an Uber driver and it was really easy to sign up. It took about 15 minutes to apply and wait a day for them to do a background check. The negotiated price was $17,900 ($28,300 - $2,600 dealer disc - $6,000 rebate - $1000 Uber - $750 HMF rebate) and out the door for $19,500. I remembered my Kizashi was $20,200 out the door in October 2010.

What I like about the Sonata Limited 2.4L compared to my Kizashi:
+Much more interior room and trunk, good for wife and 2 kids
+Leather seats , fronts heated
+Power drive rand passenger seats, no memory though like on our Kizashi
+Sunroof
+7" Touchscreen with backup camera
+Blind spot detection and warning
+Android Auto/Apple Carplay
+Push button start - our Kizashi had this
+Proximity trunk (trunk opens by itself when you're behind it a few seconds
+Proximity light behind door handle
+6-speed automatic compared to CVT
+Drive mode which adjusts steering effort, shift points, and climate control
+Homelink mirror
+LED tailights
+5 yr/ 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty
+Tire pressure monitor that displays psi on the screen

If someone is looking to replace their Kizashi, check out the Hyundai Sonata 2.4L Limited or 2.0T (Sport and Limited). Don't forget to sign up to be an Uber driver to save $1000. I'm still keeping my Kizashi at 129,000 miles and drive it til the wheels fall off.

Congrats on the Sonata. Let us know of your impressions on the way it drives. From my experience driving and riding in Hyundais, it seems like they are more tuned for road comfort than dynamics. Basically, more of an everyday cruiser than something to enjoy driving on curvy roads. The automotive press generally writes off Hyundais and Kias this way too.

From what I've been reading, it really sounds like the Mazda6 is probably the closest new car to having Kizashi-like driving dynamics. Of course though, it doesn't offer AWD but it is one of the few cars in the class to still offer 3 pedals.

After test driving a Mazda 6 for my daughter a year or so ago, that's my current choice should I need to replace the Kiz for some unexpected reason. The driving dynamica are very much similar in a great way. Only down-side is it is much longer than the K (and probably a bit wider as well).

Thanks. You are right, the Sonata is tuned more for comfort. I've test drove the Mazda6 and Honda Accord in the past. The steering isn't as precise as the Kizashi or Mazda6. You don't feel the road as well. The ride is more floaty and there's more body roll. But the ride is comfortable and quiet and that's why I like it. I haven't driven it enough to calculate mpgs yet, but I'm sure it will be a little better than the Kizashi.
