I traded a 2003 VW Golf TDI for a 2011 Kizashi and have gone from 44/48 mpg to 28.5/29.5 mpg.
I'm actually a little disappointed in the MPG, but then again, it would be better if I wasn't always driving so dang fast!
Love the mid-size sedan room and power of 2.4 over the compact Golf and TDI.

I voted my average of 27-28 which I get commuting hilly areas back and forth to work, however last weekend I took a little trip north. All highway for around 260 miles mostly around 70mph, averaged 35.7 computer probably 34 and change calculated. Never thought it was possible. Unfortunately that is not my day to day driving.
I get 25mpg.... but I have a lot of city driving in my regular route. I have seen it average 31 on a long highway run between Kansas City, Mo and Lawrence. Kansas. It is really good mileage for a AWD car. Keeps me from missing my Nissan Frontier that would get 17mpg and drop down to 13mpg in 4x4 mode.
This winter has been mild... but last year I was really impressed with how much snow this car could go through without issue. It also found traction on icy hills that send our Rav4 slipping back down backwards. It does not look like a snow machine... but it is.

Well I have been a complainer of my mpg since I bought the car. I live in Pittsburgh and with all the windy, hilly roads plus all the stop and go driving, I guess 20-22mpg should be acceptable? The problem I had was I got between 19-21 in my 2006 V6 Ford 500. However, I am now almost 2 years into my car and about 25,000 miles. I also really enjoy driving this car (I typically bore quickly of my cars). Anyway, I filled up and started to play a little lets drive extremely "EASY" and see what happens. Well I am a little through half the tank, at about 230 miles and the computer readout so far is 26.5 mpg avg. I am really looking forward to finishing this tank off and doing some actually fill up calculations. But this is looking like the BEST mpg I have recorded since getting the car. Not much highway driving in this tank either...stop and go, red light to red light. But i have tried to keep my RPM's around 1500 or below once cruising. Sometimes you just need to go a little harder?

WESHOOT has repeatedly stated, and I've concurred, that mpg is directly related to your right foot. I drive 'easy' most of the time and let the car do its thing. I'm seeing 27.5 actual (28.3 on the HUD) pretty consistently now at 17,000 miles running around Lancaster County. Hills are a killer and I'm usually not in any kid of a hurry so I don't follow the urge to 'press harder'. AWD on or off makes no defference at all.

sold)I appreciate this discussion. I just bought my Kizashi (SLS AWD) less than one month ago. After about 1200 miles, the mileage was a bit disappointing (I drive very easy). In mixed driving I am getting about 24. I hesitate to report this number b/c it is just based on about 2 tanks. However, both the sales guy and my independent mechanic told me that the mileage will improve after 3000-5000 miles (and continue to improve, up to about 30k).
